Missouri Valley Beekeepers Association is a local group of beekeepers that come together every third Monday of every month to discuss bees, what's going on in the bee world, and how to deal with bees. You can become a beekeeper and discover how to take care of them, why they are so fascinating, and the best part, how to get honey.

Honey is probably the biggest reason that people decide to become a beekeeper. Aside from that there are many more advantages, like helping pollinate your area. Without bees there would be no flowers, no beans, etc. Bees are altogether a very interesting insect and continue to amaze people all over the world.

As I said we meet every third Monday of every month at the Scenic Regional Library in Union, MO. We discuss problems that people have noticed, have people talk about things they have discovered, and how to generally take care of bees. We generally have a beginners beekeepers class in the spring of every year. This lets you get the basic idea of beekeeping and how to take care of them.

Once you think you are comfortable with bees you can buy a hive from someone in our group, and start your experience. Although the first year you probably wont get any honey, the next years make up for that. You don't have to join to come to the meetings, you can come a couple of times to see the jest of it and see if you will be interested in beekeeping.
